To the Wystone’s Family,
I hope this New Year finds everyone doing exceptionally well. The start of every New Year is always a time for reflection and new beginnings. Every one of us at Wystone’s believes that such evaluation is necessary to make positive and effective changes to your life.
As many of you know, 2018 marks the 10-year anniversary of Wystone’s World Teas. We opened our doors in 2008, the year we all remember as the beginning of the Great Recession. What a scary time and honestly, it took us for quite a ride forcing us to make several tough decisions. We survived that period and in the process, we fell in love with our customers. Most of whom have become life-long friends and family of Wystone’s.
My Dear mother, who was our unofficial Ambassador and who was in the tea café every week talking with customers, made her transition in December of 2017. Many of you quickly became her fans and listened to her countless stories. One such story was told to me last month, where my Mother was giving advice on how to best handle change. She would remind you that life is fluid and that you can’t be afraid to follow your dreams, you can’t be afraid to fail, and most importantly…you can’t be afraid of change.
We, at Wystone’s, have done all of those and we are better for it. Now, as we look forward after 10-years, it is decision time again and I have decided it is time to close our remaining store in the Belmar Shopping Center. This decision did not come lightly, and it has been as big of a decision as the one which started the opening of the tea café 10 years ago.
It’s important that I convey the reasons for my decision. First and foremost, we have been in business 12-years, with the café having been open for 10 of those years. Our lease for the café is due to expire within months, and I have decided that it is in our best interest not to renew it. Next, the economic landscape has significantly changed since Wystone’s began and online shopping has reduced mall traffic by over 60%. Thus, making the significant investment of a stand-alone brick and mortar location not as practical as it once was. Speaking further, everything is bought online, and tea, coffee, gifts and accessories are no different.
With the closing of our tea café, we have big plans to significantly increase Wystone’s online presence. We plan to continue our business through a much more robust model, while continuing to provide all of you with the same great custom tea blends, gifts, accessories and our new line of hemp products. We also plan to continue our off-site catering services specializing in tea party events, as well as our wholesale operations for corporate clients.
Our store located at the 7150 W. Alaska Drive in the Belmar Shopping Center officially closes on February 28, 2018. We will be having an all store sale each day beginning February 26th – 28th, 2018.
To say thank you for all your years of customer loyalty, we are providing each of you with a 20% off coupon that can be used at www.wystones.com throughout the entire month of March. Use the promotional code “WELOVEYOU” and you will receive 20% off your entire purchase and a free sample of our Tea of the Month.
We will continue to provide our monthly newsletter, and we strive to continue to be a strong part of the Denver and Lakewood communities. Please continue to support our on-line business and look to our website for details on private parties and catering events, which we will continue to provide.
I also want to take a moment to thank our original Wystone’s staff who helped open the café and who became such helpful and educated tea experts. I have missed all of you over the years and didn’t quite appreciate how very special you all were. Thank you again!
Finally, it has been our absolute pleasure being your community partner for the last 10-years. I wish you all much Love, Success and Blessings!
